  1. This is disk 489 of the freely distributable AMIGA software library.
  2. Below is a listing of the significant directories and their contents.

  5. Automata    Automata is an extremely versatile, cellular automaton
  6.         simulation.  Virtually every aspect of the simulation can
  7.         be altered, saved, and later recalled.  Also supplies many
  8.         powerful editing functions (such as patterns, rotations,
  9.         reflections, etc) for creating and modifying cell configur-
  10.         ations.  Additional features include editable icons, an
  11.         immense variety of rules from which to choose, "music"
  12.         which changes as the cell configuration changes and methods
  13.         to speed execution from 3 to 60 (or more) generations per
  14.         second.  Binary only.

  17. MkBmap        Builds Amiga format bitmapped fonts from PostScript fonts.
  18.         Uses the library "post.library" (disk 468) to render the
  19.         characters.  Best results are obtained with fully hinted
  20.         type 1 fonts, such as those supplied by Adobe and other
  21.         vendors.  Version 1.0, includes source.

  24. SKsh        A ksh-like shell for the Amiga.  Some of its features
  25.         include command substitution, shell functions with
  26.         parameters, aliases, local variables, local functions,
  27.         local aliases, powerful control structures and tests,
  28.         emacs style line editing and history functions, I/O
  29.         redirection, pipes, large variety of built-in commands,
  30.         Unix style wildcards, Unix style filename conventions,
  31.         filename completion, and coexistence with scripts from
  32.         other shells.  Very well documented.  Version 1.7, an
  33.         update to version 1.6 on disk 381.  Lots of new features
  34.         and bug fixes.  Binary only.
